Run Meta ads from Claude

Connect the Meta Ads MCP so Claude can read performance and make changes to campaigns without you living inside Ads Manager.

Ads Manager is built for clicking through tabs, not for asking questions. 'Why did CPA jump on Tuesday' takes five clicks and three date-range changes to answer manually. Connect the Meta Ads MCP to Claude and you can just ask. If you want, you can have Claude act on what it finds too, like pausing the ad set that's bleeding budget.

Same idea as any other connector. The Meta Ads MCP is a bridge between Claude and your ad account, authenticated through your own Meta Business login. Claude doesn't get a copy of your account. It gets permission to call specific tools: read campaign stats, read ad sets, and, if you grant it, make changes.

Nothing here bypasses your real account. Every read and every change happens inside your actual Meta Business account, visible in Ads Manager the moment it happens. Claude is a faster way to look at it and act on it, not a separate system running alongside it.

The real gain isn't that Claude can click buttons faster than you. It's that it can hold the whole account in view at once, every campaign, every ad set, every day of the last month, and answer a question that would normally mean building a custom report. That's the part Ads Manager was never built for.

What you get

Connect it

  • In Claude, open Settings then Connectors and search the directory for Meta Ads. Connect the one tied to Meta's own Business login rather than a third-party rebuild.
  • Connect, then log into the Meta Business account that manages the ad account you want Claude to touch.
  • Meta will show you which ad accounts and pages you're granting access to. Pick the account you actually run, not your whole Business Manager if you manage multiple brands.
  • Approve the scopes it asks for. Reading insights is low-risk. Granting campaign management is the part to think through before clicking yes.
  • Back in Claude, confirm the connector is active by asking a simple read-only question first.
Start read-only.

'Show me spend and CPA by campaign for the last 7 days.'

If real campaign names and numbers come back, the connection works. Don't ask it to change anything yet.

Set the guardrail before you use it

Treat any spend-changing action the same way you'd treat a wire transfer. Read the proposed change, then approve it. Tell Claude directly: 'always show me the change and wait for me to say go before you pause, launch, or adjust budget on anything.' Set this once in the conversation. It's the difference between a tool that saves you time and one that costs you a week's budget on a typo.

Good first prompts

  • 'Which ad sets are spending but converting below target? Rank them by wasted spend.'
  • 'Compare this week's CPA to last week's by campaign. Call out anything that moved more than 20%.'
  • 'Draft a new campaign structure for [product] with three ad sets testing different audiences. Show me before creating anything.'
  • 'Which creative has the highest frequency right now? That's the one going stale.'

What Claude still needs you for

  • Judging whether an angle or audience actually fits the brand, not just whether the number looks good this week.
  • Catching the outside cause behind a metric move, a holiday weekend, a shipping delay, a competitor's sale, that no dashboard flags on its own.
  • Deciding when to kill a campaign entirely instead of nudging the budget. That's a call worth making yourself, even when Claude can execute it.
Where eComrads fitsThe read side of this connector is where the value shows up fastest. Once Claude can tell you which creative is fatiguing or which angle is losing, that's your signal to make something new. Connect the eComrads MCP (https://mcp.ecomrads.com/mcp) in the same conversation and you can go from 'this ad is dying' to a fresh UGC video or static variant for the same product, without switching tools or waiting on a creator.

Common mistakes

  • Granting management access on day one instead of living in read-only mode for a week first.
  • Asking Claude to optimize toward platform-reported ROAS instead of real store revenue. Connect Shopify too so the number means something.
  • Letting Claude launch a campaign without reviewing the audience and budget first. Always ask to see the draft.
  • Forgetting which ad account is connected when you manage more than one brand. Name the account in your prompt.

The Meta Ads MCP turns Claude into a fast, honest second pair of eyes on your account. Keep write access on a leash until you trust the reads, and it becomes the fastest way to catch a dying ad set before it burns another day of budget.
